What are vehicle diagnostics?
The modern motor vehicle is highly sophisticated. Most of the features like the engine and other devices are controlled by on-board computer,
known as an ECU Control Unit, which continually monitors the performance of the vehicle.
Sensors all around the vehicle report back to the ECU if there are problems such as low levels or increased engine temperatures.
When an issue is identified, the ECU generates an error code. There are hundreds of different codes and trying to locate the cause of a problem is
near on impossible without having access to the right diagnostic equipment and the right expert knowledge.
An engine diagnostics check can help identify the problem before more serious damage occurs.
Sixers Group are equipped with the latest diagnostic equipment which can read your vehicle's on board computer error codes.
Our fully trained technicians can then locate the problem and carry out the repairs to get you back on the road.
The Diagnostic code read does not give you a confirmed issue or fix but it points you in the area of the fault.
Each system will have more than one sensor or moving part – most main dealers give you a list of possible fault causes and replacing all parts in that system!
We do not do this, we find the fault with further investigation and replace the part with the problem, cheaper for you and better for the environment.
